Grading CodesI will be using a code in the "Grade" section when I return assignments to you.
These codes are not grades, but directions for you to respond to. Here is what each number will represent: 4- Way to go! The assignment was well done and I consider it completed. 3- UNSUBMIT this assignment. All fourth graders are expected to write complete sentences, so you will need to carefully edit your work for sentence capitalization and punctuation. After editing sentences, please RESUBMIT the assignment. 2- UNSUBMIT this assignment. Read the comments that I have made and take action to improve your work. RESUBMIT after you have made the changes. 1- SEE ME in class. You may have misunderstood the assignment instructions and need some guidance to complete this work successfully, or you have not yet completed the work yet. |
How do I know if my child's Google Classroom assignment done?Students will submit their assignments, and at this point the system will register it as turned in. However, being submitted on time and completed are not the same. The assignment will need to be opened by you to see the feedback "GRADE CODE"; if the code is 1, 2, or 3 there needs to be more work done to complete the assignment. There may be teacher comments in regards to what kind of improvements need to be made.

WHAT IS GOOGLE CLASSROOM?
BENEFITS FOR EVERYONE!
Classroom is available to anyone with Google Apps for Education, a free suite of productivity tools including Gmail and Drive.
Classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized.
Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.

This is the ninth year that Google Classroom is available on-line. It is a web tool that can increase teacher and student productivity. I was thrilled with the efficiency and power of Google Classroom as I applied it for the first time seven years ago. While I originally planned to implement it in a limited way, it worked so well that I have continually expanded its application throughout the last seven years. I am looking forward to building on my experience with Google Classroom.
